Unit B

In this Unit, students will understand the world of work, skills needed to be successful
employees, how to search and make a career plan for employment.   This Unit provides an
opportunity for collaboration and involvement with CTSOS, Career Development
Coordinators (CDC), school counselors, employers, and parents. 

Competency 3.00: Through categorization, examples, and listings students will
understand the classifications of work, why people work, and what makes the world of work
change.  Students will interview workers and conduct career searches via the Internet to
increase their understanding of the world of work and skills needed for employment success.

Competency 4.00: Students will understand resources to seek employment and how to
apply and make a plan for employment.  At the completion of this competency, students will
have a preliminary career plan.
