Welcome to my ACRMS website!

Randal Hylemon

Welcome.  I am glad you have come to visit with me.

Let me tell you about myself.   I graduated from Mars Hill College in October of 1983 with a Bachelors in Mathematics and a teaching certificate.   For the next twenty years I worked as a computer programmer writing software for business systems across North Carolina and Virginia.  About eleven years ago I decided to change careers and return to the field I knew I was destined to pursue since high school. In October 2004 I started teaching at ACRMS. In 2010, I became a National Board Certified Teacher in Middle School Mathematics and in February of 2014 I completed my masters in Middle School education through Gardner-Webb university. Currently I am working toward my Ed.D. in curriculum design and instruction. I have taught all three grade levels here at ACRMS.

My wife Barbara and I live here in the Reynolds District and have had 3 grown children who all graduated from Reynolds High.

This is my first year teaching PLTW and I am so looking forward to it. I have been training for this job since I graduated High School in 1979. I studied Math and Computer Science while at Mars Hill, then worked in the computer industry for 20 years.  I have attended all the PLTW Gateway training courses that we teach in Buncombe County and am really excited to be able to teach PLTW.
