Devanon, Laura (ELA - 7)

Hello My Name Is...

Ms. DeVanon

Coming from a family of educators, I was raised in the classroom and knew that one day I would eventually wear the same teacher shoes inspiring young minds. I grew up in Southern California and earned my bachelor’s degree and teaching credential at the University of Redlands and began teaching immediately. With my continual love of learning, I received my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from my alma mater in 2005 and received my principal’s license from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2010, all while teaching.

Since 2002, I have had the pleasure of teaching English Language Arts to grades fourth through tenth. As a classroom teacher, I’ve led my students to great academic achievement which has been noted by district and school leadership. This calling to offer the best educational experience has led me to assume many roles, including working with district and school administrators, coaching teachers, and developing curriculum to meet the needs of all students. I am a literacy guru and hope to inspire adults and students to appreciate and love the power of the written and spoken word.
