A Note About Confidentiality During
 Virtual Days:
When using digital and virtual communication, it's nearly impossible to read body language and facial expressions like it would be if we were meeting in our offices. We want to make sure that you feel comfortable and that you feel safe communicating while we are still learning about this way of communication as well. With that being said, virtual advising can be a great way for us to stay connected while we are out of school. We want to encourage you to reach out to us if you need to check in with someone. We understand that using Zoom or Google Voice will not be like us meeting face-to-face, and there may be some limits to confidentiality in a video conference environment. Confidentiality is still very important to us and just like when we are meeting face-to-face at Reynolds, anything you share with us in email, over the phone, or on Zoom will be confidential unless we are worried about your safety or the safety of others. "Meeting" over email, phone, or Zoom are not guaranteed secure forms of communication.

Lastly, if you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact Mobile Crisis at 1-888-573-1006. If it's a life threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the hospital emergency room.

We are a Compassionate School!

The mission of our program is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that helps our students reach their potential. We are masters’ level trained counselors. We work in conjunction with school staff, families, and community agencies to help students with personal, social, and academic needs.

If you would like to contact your child’s counselor, please call the main school phone line at 828-298-7484 or e-mail one of us.

WHY SEE A COUNSELOR?

There are any number of reasons for children to seek out a counselor at school. The times that we live in can be difficult and stressful. Many personal and school related problems have a direct impact on a child’s ability to learn. School counselors provide a safe, confidential environment for all students.
